The Process

This remodel was designed for a young couple raising four small children in the Michigan countryside. Their original home was cozy but increasingly limited for a bustling, growing family. The goal was to expand both living and storage spaces while preserving the charm and simplicity of rural life. ArcDeco reimagined the home from the ground up, adding a full second story, a spacious three-car garage with bonus space, and thoughtful square footage that supports the rhythm of everyday family living.

Inside, the redesigned layout emphasizes openness, connection, and functionality. A new gas fireplace anchors the living room, creating a warm gathering place at the heart of the home, while a generous primary suite offers a quiet retreat for the parentsβ€”complete with its own fireplace, dual vanities, and a luxurious wet room. The kitchen was elevated with the addition of a butler’s pantryβ€”offering practical storage and prep spaceβ€”while an airy loft provides a flexible zone for work, study, and relaxation. The result is a home that feels both expansive and intimate, crafted to grow with the family and serve them well for years to come
