The Process

This historic farmhouse had been added onto many times, and the accumulated changes left the floor plan feeling crowded, awkward, and difficult to navigate. The goal of this remodel was to improve livability by streamlining flow and adding the practical features the home neededβ€”all while preserving the original footprint.

ArcDeco reworked the layout to function with clarity and intention while honoring the farmhouse character. A new primary suite was created upstairs with expanded closet space, double vanities, and a wet room designed for everyday comfort. On the main floor, a secondary bedroom suite was added to support guests or flexible living needs without compromising privacy.

Key updates centered on daily function and gathering. The kitchen was expanded and paired with a hidden butler’s pantry for improved storage and workflow. A gas fireplace anchors the living room, while the side entry was relocated to create a true mudroom. A wraparound porch extends the home outward, adding warmth and connection to the outdoors through every season.
