What To Expect

Our Process

Every project follows a clear, thoughtful process designed to bring your ideas to life with confidence. The steps below outline what to expect for full design services—Architectural, Interior, and Exterior Design—while our additional and à la carte services follow a simpler, more streamlined approach.

A beautiful design begins with a clear process. At ArcDeco, that process is both creative and methodical, ensuring that every decision—large or small—supports the integrity of your structure. From the first conversation to the final blueprints, each phase is guided by intention, precision, and an understanding of how people truly live and work. Here’s how ArcDeco transforms ideas into thoughtfully crafted spaces that stand the test of time.

Phase one

Inquiry & Introduction

It all begins with a conversation. You can reach out through our website or by email to share details about your upcoming project. Lynn will follow up with an introductory phone call to learn more about your goals and determine if ArcDeco is the right fit.

Phase Two

Discovery

After your initial inquiry, we’ll schedule a Discovery Appointment to learn more about your goals, priorities, and the unique needs of your home or business. During this meeting we discuss how the space should function, what challenges you’re hoping to solve, and what success looks like for your project. You’ll also be able to complete a Scope Questionnaire where you can share relevant project requirements and any other important details.

Phase Three

Project Proposal

Following the Discovery Appointment, ArcDeco will prepare a custom Proposal and Work Agreement outlining the scope of work and fee estimate for your project. You review the Proposal, and if you’re ready to begin, you can sign the Work Agreement and submit an initial deposit.

Phase Four

Project Kickoff

Once the Work Agreement is signed and the Deposit is received, we begin gathering the last few pieces of information needed to move forward with design.

You complete a Style and Preferences Questionnaire to help us better understand aesthetic direction, priorities, and how the space will be used. For renovation projects, this stage may also include measuring the existing space and preparing as-built drawings that document current conditions.

Finally, we’ll schedule a Pre-Design Review call to confirm your preferences and ensure that the design process begins with a clear understanding of your goals and vision for the space.

Phase FIVE

Design Development

This is where ideas begin to take shape. Using the information gathered during discovery, ArcDeco creates proposed design solutions for your space. These are presented through drawings, full-color renderings, and 3D modeling where applicable, allowing you to clearly visualize how the finished environment will look and feel.

We’ll meet for an Initial Design Presentation to review these designs together, exploring how each detail fulfills your vision. Afterward, you’ll receive digital (PDF) layouts and applicable renderings for your consideration.

Phase SIX

Feedback and Revisions

After the Initial Design Presentation, you are invited to review the proposed design and share feedback. Input at this stage helps refine the design before moving forward. We’ll schedule a collaborative Feedback Review call where we discuss your preferences, adjustments, and any ideas needed to refine the design. Revisions are made to floor plans and 3D models to reflect your feedback, fine-tuning the details that make the space truly yours.

Phase Seven

Final Approval & Document Set

Once the design is refined and finalized, we’ll meet for a Final Design Review to ensure everything aligns with your goals, both in form and function. Once you sign the Final Design Approval, ArcDeco prepares the final Design Document Package.

These drawings translate the approved design into detailed instructions that guide the building process. The documents include construction plans, elevations, specifications, and schedules that provide the clarity builders need to accurately price and execute the project. At this point, the design is fully developed and ready to move forward into construction.

Moving Into Construction

Once the final documents are delivered, clients are ready to begin working with their builder to bring the design to life. Some clients choose to continue working with ArcDeco during construction through Construction Administration, which provides ongoing design support as questions arise and helps ensure that the finished project reflects the original design vision. This service is optional and billed hourly as needed.
