Hi, I’m Lynn.
Lynn Ross is the architectural designer behind ArcDeco. Her ability to marry pragmatism and style in her work has set her apart as a designer. She delivers spaces that are timeless, comfortable, and every bit as functional as they are beautiful.
Early LifeLynn grew up in rural Michigan in a turn-of-the-century farmhouse. She attributes much of her early inspiration to the artistry and craftsmanship of that childhood home, a modest-but-lovely house constructed back when things were built to last.
Her parents were an industrious and creative pair. Her mother built a business sewing elaborate custom draperies out of their home, and her father was a skilled craftsman whose woodworking projects ranged from a mahogany cabin cruiser boat to a log home.
Lynn was a deeply imaginative child. She would often get lost for hours in worlds of her own creation. She built houses with Lego and scribbled sprawling cities on rolls of blank newsprint paper.
As she grew, so did her repertoire of skills. She learned to sew clothing—first for her dolls and then for herself—and, later, window treatments and decorative pillows. As a young adult, she refinished vintage furniture and painted custom wall murals. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in psychology, and began to understand the positive effects that a well-designed environment can have on the human psyche.

FamilyIn 1994, she married Dan Ross, a construction engineer at the beginning of his career in large-scale project management. Together, they had a daughter and two sons, Megan, Ethan, and Jaden. Lynn devoted herself wholeheartedly to motherhood and homeschooled her three children through both elementary and middle school.
The years she spent raising kids gave her an intimate understanding of the relationship between family life and home design. She learned just how much wear-and-tear growing boys can inflict on play spaces, how a large dining table can lead to laughter-filled dinners with friends, and how a cozy bedroom can bring rest after a long day.
In 2013, Lynn and Dan purchased a plot of land in the woods and got to work building the custom home they had dreamed of for years. It would be the first home that Lynn fully designed herself, and it would be the project that launched her business. It was a home built for family, a home built with artistry and craftsmanship, a home built to last. Soon after they completed construction, friends began asking Lynn to design their own homes and renovation projects.

ArcDecoOver ten years later, Lynn has built a thriving design business, tackling a wide range of residential and commercial projects—from new construction to remodels and additions. Her background in psychology gives her a nuanced understanding of how fundamental design elements—color, texture, scale, and proportion—shape not only how a space looks, but how it feels to live and work within it. Known for meticulous plan sets and thoughtful detailing, she has earned the trust of builders and trades alike, while her steady attention throughout the design process consistently delights her clients.
By taking a genuine interest in each client’s daily life, priorities, and aspirations, Lynn creates environments that support the way people truly live. Her work reflects a belief that good design should be both beautiful and deeply practical—spaces that wear well over time, foster connection, and quietly enhance everyday life. It is this balance of empathy, craftsmanship, and disciplined design thinking that defines Lynn’s work and the ethos of ArcDeco.
